AND UNDERSTAND THE NECESSARY
REQUIREMENTS.

Provider’s Guide

To submit data to OceanSITES, follow the steps outlined in this guide:

IN SUMMARY

1. Contact the OceanSITES Project Office to register with OceanSITES and obtain site and platform codes
2. Collect data and metadata and fulfill SITE description and metadata template.
3. Generate OceanSITES-compliant data files, as referenced in this document.
4. For sharing data through GDACs:
Request an account at the OceanSITES GDAC closest to you (either in France or in the USA) and upload your data
via FTP.

Check the status of your data on the GDAC, making sure that new files have appeared within 24 hours on the GDAC you submitted to and within 48 hours on the other synchronized GDAC.
5. Share! Tell others that you are a member of OceanSITES, connect with other OceanSITES members in DMT meetings, and continue to work in the global community for open data access.
